Got your costumes ready?
I’m pretty sure I did Vancouver wrong.
If you pay an airline $35 to check a bag, but the bag doesn't arrive with your flight, should the airline refund the checked bag fee? The obvious answer is, "Of course it should." When you pay the fee, you expect to collect your bag on arrival. When it doesn't arrive, you don't get what you paid for.
Jocko Sims portrays Dr. Floyd Reynolds on the NBC medical series, “New Amsterdam,” which kicks off its fourth season on September 21. An avid traveler, Sims said before he sets out to explore a new city or country, “I absolutely look up restaurants. I want to go to the best of the best, from very cheap to most expensive. What built the town or the culture? What place is impossible to get into? That floats my boat.” The 40-year-old actor is active on social media under the username @JockoSims.
I am terrible at foreign languages. Despite traveling around Europe four months a year since I was a kid, I can barely put a sentence together anywhere east or south of England. But with some creative communication, I manage just well enough to write guidebooks, produce TV shows, and enjoy Europe on vacation. And nowhere do I have more fun communicating than in Italy.
“You are certain you can drive a stick shift?” asked Aldo as we sat on the veranda outside the lobby of my hotel in Mykonos. A tall, mustachioed Albanian who clearly understood cars, Aldo gave me the keys to a tiny Fiat Panda in fire-engine red. He stared at me as if he had instead handed over a revolver and asked if I knew how to engage the safety.
You may have experienced a certain amount of togetherness with your teens in recent times. But when was the last time you ventured out for fun…
There’s always one thing – one desperately needed thing – I’ve forgotten.

A planned airline flight can go awry for many reasons at any time, and right now, schedule changes and delays are more likely than they've been in a long time:
“I’m a big believer in going to a region you like and getting lost on purpose,” Rachael Ray said from her home in Tuscany, Italy. “My mom used to do that with me when I was a kid. We’d drive to Vermont and we’d go left instead of right or down a different street or into a different place. You don’t have to go far, but I completely love the idea of getting lost a little bit. I’m an off-the-beaten-path kind of person and I like places that have reinvented themselves.” Currently in her 16th season of the syndicated “Rachael Ray Show,” she also is the author of the upcoming cookbook, “This Must Be the Place: Dispatches & Food from the Home Front,” which will be out on October 26. Ray, who also has a home in New York, shares her travels with fans on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/RachaelRay), Twitter (https://twitter.com/rachaelray) and TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@rachaelray?).
On Sunday mornings in Paris, I enjoy Mass in St. Sulpice, a church with perhaps Europe’s finest pipe organ. While I’m surrounded by towering vaults, statues of saints, and centuries of tradition, it’s the music that sends me. The spiritual sails of St. Sulpice have been filled for two centuries by its 6,600-pipe organ. Organists from around the world come to Paris just to hear this organ.
Strolling through Copenhagen, I come upon a parade: ragtag soldiers-against-conformity dressed in black making their way through the bustling, modern downtown. They walk solemnly behind a WWII vintage truck blasting Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in The Wall.” I’ve never really listened to the words until now.
Beaches along Croatia's Adriatic Sea coastline are swarming with people.
As the economy restarts, distortions are rippling through a wide swath of industries and sector. One such business is the car rental market, which has seen prices skyrocket as the car supply plummets.
It’s never too late to plan a last-minute family getaway. Here are five ideas to consider:
The travel press is full of talk about "health" or "vaccination passports," often with little information about either how they work or who might need one. My answers to some key questions are predicated on my take that COVID-19 will be around a long time and that travelers will face various health tests for another year or more.
In 2014’s “The Gabby Douglas Story,” Sydney Mikayla portrayed the child version of the Olympic gymnast. Currently, she has a plum role on the soap opera “General Hospital,” where she plays a young woman reunited with her father. “Trina is a loyal, tell-it-like-it-is, ambitious teen,” said Mikayla, who lives in the Los Angeles area. “She’s a great friend and she’s really motivated about going to college to study art. I think we’re similar in that we love our family and friends, but she definitely likes to get in people’s business a bit more than I do.” The actress stays in touch with her fans on Twitter (@sydneymikayla) and Instagram (@officialsydneymikayla).
“We’re here to anticipate the guests’ needs,” said hotel manager Greg Viaud. “We keep ahead of the game.”
