Yohan Traore, Auburn's highest-rated signee in its 2022 signing class, arrived on campus over the weekend and could begin practicing with the Tigers as early as this week, according to coach Bruce Pearl.
Had Phillips signed with Auburn, he would have taken the Tigers' final scholarship spot for the 2022-23 season and vaulted their 2022 class to a top-five national ranking.
A commitment from Phillips — a consensus five-star — would bump Auburn's 2022 class into a top-10 ranking.
Coveted prospects Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, Johni Broome and Julian Phillips have all been linked to visits to the Plains in recent weeks.
Traore is now officially the second highest-rated signing in program history, second only to forward Jabari Smith.
Is Jaylin Williams ready to shoulder more responsibility? Can Allen Flanigan get back to his old self?
